i got around six months out of mine when i put the EJ in...but also wasnt the nicest to it back then.

not many (if any at all) would put an EJ22 infront of one as at some point its pretty much expected to blow a gear (second or reverse would be my bet)

its also much nicer to swap to a five speed for the fact the Ratios are MUCH better.

Stronger than the ea81 boxes??? YES. And there are plenty of people currently driving around with ea82 boxes on there ej22s without too much dramas.

I seriously think you should be trying to get hold of a car to borrow for a few weeks when you do the conversion. Considering you have not done it before there is no chance of doing it in a weekend. 4 weekends is probably a more acheiveable goal.

Although the conversion is relatively simple compared to other conversions there is a hell of a lot of work involved... do not under estimate it.

heath, if I'm available, I'd love to be a part of the process, this is what I hope to do to my L (that didn't make it for the cruise).

Does this mean your keeping the mighty MY? Or is this for another project on the side?

Cheers

Find an 80's tarago or mistubishi equilivant? They shouldn't be too costly these days, but I guess you gotta find one that will last the distance...

Will talk more about it on the 9th ;)
