ej22 into my sedan
ej22 into my sedan
can anbody tell me is it worth me puttind an ej22 into my suby with an ea81 dual range box. will the power be to much for just front wheel drive. and would the box handle it
i got around six months out of mine when i put the EJ in...but also wasnt the nicest to it back then.
not many (if any at all) would put an EJ22 infront of one as at some point its pretty much expected to blow a gear (second or reverse would be my bet)
its also much nicer to swap to a five speed for the fact the Ratios are MUCH better.

Wagon is no longer....

Stronger than the ea81 boxes??? YES. And there are plenty of people currently driving around with ea82 boxes on there ej22s without too much dramas.

EJ conversion wiring harness cut downs available. Please PM or email ([email protected]) for details.
I seriously think you should be trying to get hold of a car to borrow for a few weeks when you do the conversion. Considering you have not done it before there is no chance of doing it in a weekend. 4 weekends is probably a more acheiveable goal.
Although the conversion is relatively simple compared to other conversions there is a hell of a lot of work involved... do not under estimate it.

adaptor plate needs to be made to join the ej and ea motor and gearbox, for a start that takes time unless u buy one.
