Sure you're not confused with the SubaXtreme kits?

Low Range bits

Post by legacytt » Thu Jun 29, 2006 9:30 am

At around $1600 for a ratio only slightly lower than the early L series 3.9's it is a big ask. I have just put the L series bits in a Lib box and have it in my Turbo wagon. Even with the 28's it is a great low gear. I was towing a tandem trailer overflowing with firewood at the weekend and it was effortless. Previously, with this sort of load, just getting starterd was a clutch smoking affair with the single range box I had in it. Similarly on a steep incline it has plenty in reserve. Obviously a lot cheaper to butcher an L series box and adapt the shifter fork.

I've got similar in my Ej20T and it cost me all of $20 for the gears, and $10 for some silicone. You'd be better off getting a reconditioned gearbox for the $1600
