Be carful there are some hot RS libs & rex's with EJ22's & 2.5 cranks in there realling off 11's and 10's. Same goes for the EJ25.

I think probably because the EJ20(turbo) motors are a dime a dozen in Australia. I don't think the EJ22 turbo Legacy motors like that one were ever sold here, they are only availabe in imported front cuts.

You just use a normal ej22 and get it close decked.

I thought the normal EJ22's were open decked? (ie, dont cope with boost too well).

Alot of the EJ20T 's are open decked too and cope with the boost ok, there is alot of converted opened deck EJ22 turbo's getting around these days too, I know of one or two that are still running the standard 2.2 pistons aswell.

Fair enough - How do you close the deck yourself, and still keep water galleries etc open? Fill it with sand? (yes, I'm joking!)

I'm assuming this isnt easy or cheap to do?

Edit - cant spell

Interested but ignorant, what does open decked and close decked refer to? I'm sure it's obvious.

Open Deck means the bores look like they are just sitting in the block, closed deck means the bores are attached to the block via webbing cast into it or if you close deck welded back in there.

As far as doing it your self, there is prolly no reason why you cant but you would need to rebore it after at a minimum and possibly re sleeve. Just use an EJ20T closed deck (early one) as a reference
