It's a particular manifold. But you could pioneer a custom twin carb setup like the VWs have

Apparently to get the most out of the twins you need the twin port heads and cam to match. But I think they would be an improvement over the stock single carb setup.

ok well my ingenious mind has decided that the plans for a hydrogen generator i just bought shall be powerful enough to run a small subaru engine (EA) on nothing but hydrogen... should make for a very cheap car to run

Brumbys never came out in either.

The L series came out in MPFI and and carbie in Australia. America got the SPFI EA82, and this is a common conversion on the EA81 with good results. It's basically all factory but with the EA81 block.

ah ok its just carbs sieze up if used with out oil based fuel so its hard to run hydrogen through it constantly if i could get my hands on a SPFI manifold it,d make life a billion times easier or i pull off the carby and replace it with a modified throttlebody... idk well see how much hydrogen i need to power it first

When the hydrogen conversion is done, if it is done. I am soo there, love my science and would love to see how it runs! In principle its all good. Finding a hydrogen fuel supply ie a servo, that could be hard!

I'm not sure about this, what about all those LPG converted cars? I know we never ran fuel through the carb, and this was only an issue when trying to run on fuel as the rubber O seals etc had dried out...

Is that it? I thought bi carb and water created carbon dioxide... But I never did chem so don't know anything really!

If you want to keep it stock it'll really depend on what you get. Also the EA82 is more work to fit in the MY body shape than a SOHC EJ - this is because the EA82 is the widest engine subaru have produced AFAIK.

Has theory changed on the energy requirements to produce enough hydrogen to power a normal car engine? Only if you have discovered the secrets that went to the grave with Stanley Meyer(s)

The only units I have seen in action on a car have been enough to smooth out the idle and leave a white powdered mess under the bonnet. That little Festi died a quick death due to an L plater zipping through a give way at not so good timing. Replacement Festi now sports an 18 litre LPG tank for cheap and cheerful motoring.

BRAT EA81T were mpfi in US weren't they - stick in a wanted EA81T ad, saw one for sale recently in here?
