Camshafts generally come in "stages" you have your standard grind (factory) then usually available via the aftermarket are.. stage 1 cams, stage 2 cams and stage 3 cams. These vary in profile of the lob.. stage 3 for example has a very large high and long duration lob.. and they decrease down until you get back to standard.

I've never heard of the grinds you mentioned,, I'm thinking that is old school drag racer boy talk.. hilman hunter = slow grind (or close to standard)
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Forget about stages, that's old hat.

Lift, Lobe centres, and .050 timing figures are the keys.

Aim for high intensity, smaller differences between .050 and "seat to seat" timing, gives the best of both worlds.

Can't run big cams with low compression and vice versa, depends also on available fuel octane.
