EA81 intake HP manifold make in China?

Post by steptoe » Tue Oct 12, 2010 11:32 am

Surely with the number of EA81's and two's around you'd think some enterprising dude would, somewhere in the world, be able to get a foundry in China to produce an affordable intake manifold that suits both 81 and 82 with installer to alter their thermostat hoses and positions and alternator fitment to fit a variety of carbies as in twins, Hitachis, webers etc

sorry but the viability of such an exercise would be lost on the profit now attitude of the Asian business man

unless of course some one is prepared to pay $XXXXXXXX dollars/RNB up front and then maybe recoupe said moneys over a course of perhaps never years

hang on I will get in touch with that nice banker from Nigeria who wants to send me all that money

it would possibly be cheaper to buy a tig welder and hand make each manifold per customer

all apologies for being a $h!7

Yup, Gotta agree that the best way here would be to have a specialist fabricator make these to order / demand.
The kind of guys who do the bespoke motorcycle pipes would be ideal, wouldn't be cheap though!:(
Business opportunity here for someone.......??

I really dont see big gains in the intake manifold, unless you are gonna do a lot of work to the heads and exhaust.

Also, there is quite a science in making an intake manifold work propperly, if you dont get your calculations right, you could actually rob your engine of power
