Lifter Ticking Noise

Is there any other product that can stop the lifters from "ticking" in the EA82.
I have used SuperX before and this worked really well but the place i bought it from is ordering the next lot from America. Just asking if anyone else has tried different products.

I used the Nulon Lifter free stuff, we sell it at my work. It's crap and I won't sell it to anyone after using it.

I had a similar experience - the SuperX worked for a while - then it came on back. I had a mechanic tell me to use the Wynn's version - but the same thing - went away, came back.

Ended up having oil pump seals, crankshaft seals, etc replaced at the front of the motor. I think the mechanic also used a thinner oil too - I have no lifter tick at all anymore.

I believe there is no more annoying noise in a car than lifter tick!

You could also try changing your oil brand (depending on what you are using now) to a thicker/less viscous oil

This problem has been on this forum many times.
The usual cures I have seen are:
1. Replace the oil pump seals. They are available as a kit.
2. Use a less viscous oil. Most oils are 20w50, look for a 15w40 oil.

Where abouts can you get a kit for the oil pump seals?
That seams like the best option, because i have used Super X before and it did work for quite a while and just recently the ticking has come back.

Subaru is the best place to get them, they arent expensive either less than $40 last time i brought a kit. While you are in that area if you havent changed your cam belts it would be a good time to do that and the main and cam seals.

i paid about $30 for the o ring kit about 4 weeks ago.if your car has done alot of km you can put another oilpump rotor in about $50.i have spent about $400 on my old ea trying to get rid of the tick.the funny thing is when i swapped motors and then put the old one back in again

it hasn't ticked since going back in. jealous i guess
