x2! I'll also be keen to know how hard it goes - then how long it lasts being an NA motor with the turbo.

Cheers

the NA MPFI definately has a TPS - it's a variable tps rather than an on-off one like the 3 pluggers

So...we need the TPS and AFM to suit the computer in use, was gonna suggest that you try the four plug dizzy if your car is four plugger just to see if it resolves your drama that we/ I may have helped you create

yeah. afm, tps and dizzy all need to match the ecu, rest not so much.

will be putting on the turbo IM and other stuff in the morning. give it at least 24 hours to settle, then filling it up with coolant and seeing how i go.

update

engine started today, except only on 3 cylinders....

my fault though - i wacked the dizzy cap while putting the IM back on and knocked cylinder 3 off. have got a cap and rotor on order, so will see how that goes then. that probably wont come until monday unfortunately :( assuming they ordered the right one - the 3 plug one is different to the 4 plug one.

no leaks though...lol

Bugger about the cap - at least you got it started! Did it have any trouble trying to start on three cylinders? If it didn't really I reckon its a goer with the new cap!

she lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and it goes very very well. i set the timing to 10 degrees BTDC and it idles nice and smoothly about 800rpm. definately the best the car has ever gone.

there were some ever so slight misses as it revs along, so i'm going to double check the spark plug gaps and make sure they are pretty small, probably about 0.8mm, to make sure the mixture goes boom.

very very impressed with it indeed.

oh and i've lost one of the warming codes too. before this engine I was getting 45 and 51. now i'm only getting 45.

just got to get the slight studdering under acceleration and it'll be sweet.

is this the only high compression turbo ea82 going around oz? or even the only one attempted?

So what ECU are you running? Shouldnt your timing be set to 20deg?

Good to see its running. You should dyno it to see how much power its making

reduced timing due to increae of CR from EA82T 7.7:1 to mpfi 9.5:1, increasing CR by 23% !! Before turbo gets spooling!! Old school is reduce intial timing to start with as you increase comp ratio. ten is easy to remember

He is running 3 plug ECU, dizzy and separate knock box - all 3 plug stuff
