Check the door switch. Most i have come across , get a little rust on them which stop them from contacting properly. Also check the wires that connect to the light it self, sometimes they just need to be pulled out and put back in a couple of times to get a better contact.

an amp meter and a bit of patience is whats required here which is why my brumby still has no interior light (a yellow sticker offence in WA if the cop is cranky)

but as said 99% of the time its a contact problem the other 1% its a blown globe

with the alarm not working it is a simple fix I was told to put a small capacitor in with the light to boost the signal when the door opens, mind you you must put it in the right way otherwise you get a nice pop when it overheats and explodes (amp meter will help you work that out)

if you ask a technician at an alarm place he might tell you how to go about it more often than not they want to charge money

the light works when you turn it on, just not on the door setting

I had the same problem with my Brumby. Went down to U-Pull it and got two better design switches off an MY sedan and no more problems.

Common problem with aged cars, I remembered I used to have the problem with my Camira once, I just replaced whole switch to another one, it was a dirty contact from open & closing many times..

either the switch in the light is buggered or the switches in the doors are stuffed

I have tried 3 different units in my lib, multiple globes, works when its set to on but not when any of the doors open, which would suggest a wiring issue somewhere, maybe alarm related.. boot light is the same.
