Brumby/Leone heater vavle replacement

Post by Venom » Fri Feb 01, 2013 8:11 am

The heater tap valve thing in my coupe is leaking, a lot. I've by-passed it for now, since i certainly don't need it in Mt Isa. Wouldn't mind replacing it though.

Looking for an alternative and came accross this Commodore valve:

Anyone know if this would work? I'm assuming since it's 4-way pipe that it would allow flow through for the drivers side head when both opened and closed?

Obviously vacuum instead of cable operated like the Brumby one.

Cheap replacement at $20.

Yeah I'd stick with original, however if the hose size is the same give it go ... :)

When I did mine, had to strip the dash to get to the controls & free them up, as they had rusted in place ... :(

Worth the trouble to fix though .. :)

My only question is how will you make the vacuum bit of it work? I guess you could use a vacuum switch that's electronically operated... I've got one on Ruby Scoo that you can have as I've got no need for it, the thing just sits there because it's there...

Cheers
