Brumby engine replacement.

Post by drkevorkian » Tue Apr 18, 2006 9:54 pm

The situation is... rolled my '91 brumby and have found an '85 model with a stuffed engine. I want to put my engine in the '85.

Is there going to be any major differences between the engine setup/mounting between these year models? Im hoping for a simple swap over.

Easy?

It's likely there'll be different emissions crap, possibly different wiring as well, but all in all should be an easy swap.

I think there will be some slight wiring differences but I beleive the actual mounting will be a straight unbolt/bolt situation.

Overall should be easy, nothing a couple of questions and answers on Ausubaru won't solve when you're in the thick of it.

I believe it takes a trained eye to pick the differences between the two years other than headlights and oil dip stick, front brake callipers and clutch size

go for it
