Car Imports

Post by Bumpty » Wed Jul 02, 2008 11:20 pm

Just looking at trade me + vehicles, I think down the track I could maybe import a car from NZ. Who's done it, and what company did you go through and is it worth all the hassle to import, or isn't there much hassle at all?

Opinions and experience, all welcome!

Trade car view

I found this website and wouldn't mind importing a legacy or something. If anyone has any thing to ad to this thread it would be great.
Past rides-
1989 Brumby

Current ride-

I've come across trade car view, seems to be better to import from Jpn, cars seem in better (body) condition, lower ks etc. All seem to good to be true at those prices (even with import costs added on)

Although, I'm nearly talked out of bothering. Not my views, but apparently they don't service their cars regularly, and a lot of them are driven near salt.
Could be the biggest generalisation to have ever been told, but just trying to help with clearing things up haha.

Hmm... I too have dreams of this. It will probabily never happen as I already have plenty of things to keep me entertained over here as it is. But it would be lovely to have one of those RXII coupes sitting in the shed as a weekender or special occasion ride :D
