Yeah it seems that overseas the Outback really is just a version of the liberty. There was also that Impreza "sport" with similar styling.

And let us not forget the Baja: (Have a link to photobucket! (this one is for sale))

I like the yellow paint job on this one!

Oh how I wish they were sold in Australia...

I quite like the look of the Baja, a two door version would be sweet, I'm sure there'd be heaps of people lining up for one if its a good a work horse as the brumby is.

This black Baja looks 100x better than the Yellow/silver one

I did a quick paintshop chop to see what a single cab one would look like

They (the Baja) look weird in the flesh, very unbalanced. I think I saw _one_ in a lot of travelling in the US in 2006...they just didn't sell. I recall Subaru when pulled the plug on manufacture they still had thousands unsold.

If you could find a re-registerable but badly damaged Outback here, and imported a written off (front/engine damage) Baja it shouldn't be too hard to stitch together a RHD version...and still be ok for ADR's.

With holden/ford utes so popular here, i can see why a single cab outback wouldnt.

I imagine a turbo outback ute could compete in the XR6/HSV ute market
