Shaving or a Head skim should be about $60 a head. As for a full recondition I'm not sure.
I've always used monotorque headgaskets, should be about $40 - $50, been a while since I got a set. The main reason for these headgaskets letting go for me are:
- Old threads pulling out after 6 months
- Blowing the side out of the radiator, subsiquently warping the heads
Fun fun.
Good luck with it.
Cheers

Hmmm... This info would have been handy a while ago. Think i'll defenetly go the EJ route.Suby Wan Kenobi wrote:If your head bolt threads are pulling out its generally because the motor has been cooked, re-tempering the block.
Is there any way to fix this "re-tempered" block to hold properly again? I've already had some helicoils pull out due to overheating and not being long enough in the hole...
Cheers
