Propshaft length

Post by Pommiebrat » Fri Jun 27, 2008 9:10 pm

Hi guys,

I'm just in the process of fitting a 5sp d/r L-series box to my Brat. I don't want to fit the L-series 2 piece propshaft; I want to extend the Brat propshaft. Can anyone tell me the exact overall length the new shaft needs to be from rubber seal on gearbox to flange on rear diff?

Cheers

Can't measure it until the gearbox is in. Was just trying to do some concurrent activity and get the propshaft made while I make the mounts for the gearbox.

make it same length as the two piece you dont want to fit, they fit my Brumby just fine as a two piece with similar box (23 spline D/R L series 5 speed from a 92 wagon)

It's between 135.5 and 136.0 cm long from pin to pin (not from end to end!). I'd assume the mating pieces at each end would be unchanged from one MY over the other...and it's easier than pulling out the shaft!

Cheers. I'll get that sent off tomorrow and hopefully have it back in by next weekend.
