I've got a great idea. Leave the trailer at home and pack light. Barkly isn't really on the way home from the cape.....or are you just touring around for a month ?

True. Doing long trips into remote and semi remote places is great, but you do need to prepare you and your vehicle very well. As you can probably tell from our ramblings from our recent trip alot of stuff broke. Most of it was unlucky, but it shows if your prepared you can get yourself going again. Also the beauty of being in convoy.
I'd be interested in a cape trip some time, but looking that far into my crystal ball just becomes hazey.

I wouldn't mind doing the cape again one day. Not sure if it will be next year or not though. Kind of have my heart set on getting to northern WA before I go to the tip again.

Where did you live in Townsville Chubby37?

I lived up there from Jan 1969 to April 2002, my wife was born in Ayr, she lived in Currajong (Hugh St) and when we got married we lived in Heatley (Mill Dve) - Kirwan (Lambert St) - Cordelia Estate (Darling Rd) and finally Annandale (Zamia Court), we moved to Buderim and now Caloundra.
