Subaru's diesel engine will not come to the Australian market untill the European Market is has meet its demand and is satisfied. So the diesel Liberty/Outback may not come till decades end. Time scale we might be looking at something like 2010, but hopefully before.

On the topic of Diesel. Diesel is higher than that in Perth. Which is Bullshit.

Wondering, if the Federal Government want to create a situation where the price of petrol a less of a burden straight away on Australian family's. The best thing is not only installing the FuelWatch for the entire country, which has been in Western Australia for a while now which is good in locating a Petrol Station with the best price available. The other option would be remove the ****ing dirty tax off diesel you idiots in Canberra. Christ almighty, use common sense guys in Canberra.

Diesel is a less refined oil, and therefore has less refining costs which is passed on the consumer everywhere else in the world. Really Diesel should be 15% cheaper than Petrol rather than being 15% more expensive. Plus diesel engines are 25%-40% more fuel efficient than petrol engine which have the exact same cubic capacity. In doing this "guys in Canberra" you make everyone’s, i mean every single persons who commutes with a car alot easier.

never happen if the GOV can see a $ in it...look at LPG.it almost a bi product...they use to burn it off cos it almost had no use but now look at the price once they started running cars on it.

I can remember when diesel was always cheaper. As you have said, it comes first in the refining process so cheaper to produce. (getting off topic I know)

LPG has less energy per unit mass than petrol, and a dual-fuel car will have poor fuel efficiency with both. But apparently a dedicated gas car gets great mileage and it's cost per km is lower. Though the latter depends on the price of LPG staying where it is... heh.
