Post by GTlegs » Sun May 04, 2008 1:20 pm

Where abouts are the transmission and engine computers kept on a Vortex?

I thought it was on the steering column even though the wiring comes from the centre of the firewall rather than from the righthand side of the car.

Then again, it is a vortex, it could be in a very odd place to keep with the odd ora of the car...

Pretty sure the Engine ECU is in the left hand rear quarter panel... but I thought the Transmission was Vacumn Controled and that meant there was no ECU for it?? Could be wrong tho :(

I have seen some Imported Vortex with a Electronic 4EAT but can't remember where the ECU was located...

Dont have any, but I am interested in the computer for the 4spd EAT that came on the vortex.

Definitely under the rear parcel shelf , mounted with 3 nuts or bolts .
The engine control wiring loom runs the full length of the car - down the drivers side on RHD cars .

The feller I bought my spido Vortex engine/trans off sent me most of the looms from that car and 101 odd looking control boxes I have no use for .
From manual car BTW .

Cheers A .

The TCu for the 4 speed auto is behind the glove box in a late model Vortex
