Brumby Spare Tyre
Brumby Spare Tyre
I have changed to 14s mudtyres, and my new spare doesn't fit under the bonnet, at the moment it is just floating around in the back under the cover.
how has everyone else stored their spares?
was thinking of cutting a hole in the tray just behind the cab and building a cage so the tyre can sit vertical but still fit under the cover.
has this been done?
it it going to weaken the tray too much?

This is the rear bar that Suby Wan out on to mine, before the bar was fitted, the spare was under the false floor, behind the draws. Before the false floor was put in, I wpuld just lay it in there, with a bit of wire rope wound around the wheel, and tied to the tie down point inside the tray for a bit of security.

Not what I have in mind...I'm sure its a good job. Somewhere on the forum, its says that the purgeot 505 rims are fine for a spare for the 14" wheel. We have a bloke in Toowoomba that has a paddock full of purgeots. I'll pick up a spare and work from there. I would rather the spare be outta sight really. Thanks for the photo...all ideas are appreciated. Cheers....Trevor
