High Intensity Discharge (HID) kits
High Intensity Discharge (HID) kits
Hi everyone, been a while since I have posted.
I was driving in front of a mates car the other night and was totally blown away by the HID (high intensity discharge) headlights he had. I have had a look around for conversion kits but everything on ebay looks like it is of dubious quality. Has anyone converted their headlamps to HID?

I got both my RX and dad RX running HID, both kits came from Ebay and both from the same vendor "OMG_so cool car". Both kits are 6000k and both H4s, the set in my RX have been there about 4 months and dads slightly longer and am pretty happy with the light they put out.

We use them in everything and put heaps of people onto them as well. Absolutely no problems with them.

this karma should happen more often to HID devotees:) http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/inde ... pic=138712
Yeah there are some long bolts coming out the back of the headlights, these are the adjustments.
Park your car nose up near a wall and shine the headlights on there, this will give a good indication of where they are pointing while adjusting them.

Right. Why, I don't wish a 5k bill on you and your vehicle. Cheers

Well 'OMGsocoolcar' came up with the goods on ebay and I now have some lovely 6000K HIDs fitted to the L series. Make a massive difference to night time visibility, in particular the road lines and reflectors. It's also a bit creepy being able to read numberplates of drivers coming towards you... Never been able to do that with the tungstens.
The beam needs MAJOR adjusting and I have been tweaking it for a few nights now, but still not completely satisfied. Did any L series come out with clear front glass lenses? As in no markings/mouldings in the glass? Thinking this might be worth a look.
All up costed $130 including postage and was actually cheaper to buy in sterling rather than AUD$. No wires to cut and all the fittings are good quality with a lot of nylon braiding on important bits. No complaints.
