Tailshaft for a 5 Speed into an MY

so. it has been brought to my attention that there may be a single piece Tailshaft from a Suby that can fit right in when a 5 speed box is put into an MY.

anyone know which one it is?

the old 4speed Manual single piece shaft is way to short. so maybe an Auto 4wd one or something weird.

but any1 know...

and if they do....who has one

If you want a one piece one you will have to have one made like I did , I gave it to someone off the board here , not sure who I gave it to now

I remember it haveing to be about 230 mm longer than the standard MY one.

Yeah that was me suba, prob be getting a thinner shaft soonish, its a little beefy, so it''ll be passed on... A 2 piece shaft from an impreza was about the same length but that requires centre bearing.

yer thats wt i thught at first.

if thats the only option then im just gonna look at making some kind of mount for the centre bearing and use the 2 piece out of the L.

please dont tell me you GAVE something like that away

they expensive to get made lol

point noted, but how wuld it be a profit if he paid more money first off to get it done than wt it culd be sold for.

It cost me just under 400 dollars to have made , When I dismantled the Subi That was one of the parts that was left in the shed for some time so it went to someone that could use it , I had no use for it and I do like to give stuff away and have done many times to help people out , you do what you can , I believe in Karma.

Does it not fit under there Cam ?.
I know that if your diff mount is a bit sus you will have problems with this shaft .

It's just a little long for an ej box so i've just moved the rear diff back as a temp measure, i'll either be getting this one shortened or a new one made up...

to use an L series tailshaft is an easy option and also good if it needs replacement or swap out to diagnose noises or vibrations if tailshaft is suspected - I use one anyway
