Weber adapter plates

Hey Y'all

Just about to pick up an adapter plate but the one they had isn't the one specified by the book only by the fact that the one in the book has a water pipe connection that feeds into the carby. do I need this water pipe and what would it be for
2006 the year of the Subaru 8)
sofar completed: Rear bumper replaced, central locking, next weber conversion.

I beat mine down with a blunt instrument - I don't think you need it. I think it keeps the carburettor at a relative temperature to the manifold. I ended up using an adaptor kit that is also used for Gemini from memory.
