I need to go shop for a Subaru turbo engine need help in engine number and horse power e.g. EJ20G what horse power is it? Twin turbo or single? Like a list of engine number and horse power.

This Turbo engine will go into a leone n no i dnt want an ea82t... tired of ea's...

Which is better single or twin turbo? (i prefer single, opens everything at once hehe)

look for a early WRX frontcut, they will be the simplest to convert. Later models have an imobiliser in the ecu and can cause problems if you dont have the key.
Twin turbos are much more complicated

Yeah stay away from the twins, you'll have much less hassle with an early WRX set up.....or you could just go 2.5 n/a

Front cuts are too expensive here, i went to check around all i got was twin turbo's still looking thnks for your posts. Anything else i should check while buyin an engine? keep the specs comming thnks.

About the only twin I'd go for would be a GTB manual, 206kw, 4.44 gearbox but you'll need a complete front cut to make sure you get the complete wiring harness & all the little pits & pieces that are attached to it, also the computer, they usually go for around $3,000 - $3,500 over here as the box is worth $2,000 alone, don't know how you'd go fitting the twin dump pipes to a Leone though.

Hmmm so my question is, is it possible to fix a twin turbo motor? and if i do n ej conversion do i require another fuel pump?.

Difficult to get a front cut but what im getting is the motor n the ecu solo notin else.

Don't buy a twin turbo at all if you do not get every thing that goes with it. There is vacuum and boost controllers on both sides of the engine bay that are critical to the way it will run. There is also a large vacuum canister on the passengers side inner guard with a 1/2" or there-abouts hose running across the bumper and in to the boost controller on the drivers side strut tower.

There is nothing wrong with doing a twin turbo conversion. It is generally people that don't know what they are talking about or haven't had any thing to do with them that tell you not to. They look troublesome but in reality they aren't much different to a single turbo.

Twin turbo will fit in to an L series. I have done them in to utes and there is more room in L's.

The power figures posted up there are not quite right. It is not as simple as that. Basically the twins have more power than the singles unless you buy an STi single.
By that, Its 160 HP at 5600rpm
That is a 2.2 engine that the USA got. It did not have the same power as the jap spec turbo.
145kw for the base model single turbo - legacy
160kw for early Impreza
185kw for base twin turbo (by the way, I have not seen one yet that has not had a 4.444 ratio gearbox)

Power increased pretty much each year they were brought out. So you have to know exact year to find exact power. You also have to know what spec the vehicle was too. Japan had a lot of models with a lot of different specs.

Just wondering if anyone here can do a search for info for the twins etc based on a jap VIN plate so far the subaru dealers I have talked to keep putting it into the too hard basket Also a wiring diagram would be nice too!
