2006 Liberty - diagnosing reason for audio system/climate control failure

Post by lib2nv » Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:41 pm

Hey guys - I was hoping someone here would have some expert knowledge that may help - the radio and aircon/climate control stopped working today on my 2006 Liberty. Pulled the instructions and examined all fuses that may be the culprit but nothing seems to have blown.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem or have any idea what I should investigate next?

Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere - I did do a quick search across the forum and came up with zilch.

Cheers
Sam

shuldnt it be under new car warranty mate??

but yer does sound like a fuse somewhere. maybe u missed one.

it usually pays to go over every fuse with a test light and the ignition ON.
if one side lights up and the other doesnt its a dead fuse.

if neither light up its ok. (like Charge fuse wont work till alternator does and the motor should be off)

the fuses have small tabs on top which u can poke with a test light and get a reading out of.

Matatak - thanks for the reply. yeah it should be under warranty and I have organised to take it in tomorrow to Subaru. Its a pain in the proverbial to take it to the dealer thats why I had a look at the fuses - i think its a fuse too but I didnt bother pulling every single one out to check (had to do it visually as I dont have a test light) - just looked at the instructions and checked all the ones that even remotely looked like they may be linked to the audio/climate control systems.

i also like to get my hands dirty when anything goes wrong with my cars before running to the dealer :) Anyway - cheers for the response ...

Very strange. I wonder what is going on there. Maybe it runs on Microsoft software. :D
