Post by cain » Tue Feb 19, 2008 11:09 am

Hi, one of my cam belt tensioners has blown it self. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same problem before? Is it a big job to get fixed and is it pricey??
I live in melbourne in williamstown, and want to know a good mechanic to take it too aswell... any help is appreciated...thanks
Cain.

Go to Volkbaru in Airport West they'll be able to assist you.

if your having tensioner issues, you might as well replace the timing belt and the idler pulleys while your at it

just buy a timing belt kit with a tensioner in it and slap it all in while its apart

it probably seems pricey now, but its gotta be a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild due to a snapped timing belt
