intermittant cruise control OME - '94 RS

Post by sven '2' » Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:24 pm

have the above car - aust delivered.

Cruise works intermittantly, anything above 30C and it fails to engage. When it does work, and will sometimes work above 30C, preforms without a problem.

Was hoping it is a different CPU to the engine ECU, ie a simple unplug and changeover...but, been around subes long enough to know that probably is not the case

Any suggestions??

Cruise control is a separate control box located on the passengers side LH of dahs behing the glove box to the left of the opening and is bolted to the dash support on that side, i hope the description of the location is clear enough.

You could change it for one you know that works, but it could be the switch that turns it on may have the issue and you could try changing it. You could also have a problem with the vacuum pump as well, its the black thing just infront of the AC reciever drier just above the chassis rail. or it could be simply the actuator has a busted diaphram.

I am probably not much help on leading you directly to the problem but it could be any of those above and at a guess i would start with the mechanical items ie pump and actuator.
