Libs ready for the pits again.

Post by vidler » Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:26 am

I've given up worrying about shit hitting the fan when i post progress on the lib, but seem as though some of you are familiar with the car, and yes, its a beast of a subaru 4x4, i'll keep updating you all as we're all here for the same reason.

got her back from all star garage in Malaga yesterday (after 2.5 weeks) and she's running on song now. Got the oil and water leaks fixed that developed on my drive home from QLD fixed, new water pump and timing belt just because, new end tank on radiator coz apparently it had a very minor leak, just a small drip that evaporated before it hit the ground, put in a high pressure walbro pump coz the stock one wasnt coping when the revs got up there, and got it dyno'd and retuned.

so after all that she's running a comfortable/safe 10psi, not missing a beat, idling sweet, not stalling, nice smooth transition from idle to acceleration and im guessing the fuel economy might be a smidge better.

Alarm/immobiliser is going in on sunday, im in the process of re-sealing the sump on the box, extremely minor leak that probably coulda been fixed my tightening the bolts on it, but i've removed it and using a combination of the gasket and gasket silicone goo stuff. Swapped out the drivers seat belt.

So with all that solved, back over the pits on monday. It should pass coz ive fixed everything on the list they gave me last time, so cross fingers i'll have a licensed subaru 4x4 beast... and that means she'll be in some offroad action shortly.

also going to attempt to permanently fit the seats Brett supplied me, including the bench part... thats gonna be fun:)

oh its only about 150hp on 10 psi, easy go past 180hp on 14psi but i'd need to replace the coils with aftermarket ones to do that properly, so im leaving it where it is.

Let us know where you get the bash plate from, Vidler. Mine may not be quite as serious a 4wd as yours, but I do feel a bit vulnerable with that plastic bash plate under there!

This is Vidler we are talking about here.....he will get the design from his brain, walk to his shed where he has metal and a welder....then it will mysteriously appear under his car :)

taking it over at 3:15... just neatening it up. went and ordered a spare key, got a refund on the water pump i bought that was the wrong one, came out with a bag of goodies from subaru. shirt, hat, oil filter, 2x cans of upper engine cleaner and the key.

also exchanged my front bumper from the b4 for some replacement vented rear dists and rear cv's as they are starting to click around corners

pretty productive day today so far, but i'm still trying to get the interior off a bloke who said he had what i needed 1 and a half months ago. called him about 20 times and he makes an excuse every time. so i just left him a msg saying if you want my money call me today, im not chasing you anymore.

will be getting the interior tomorrow

I do hope you are getting it all changed completely and they are not the parts I tried hard to get you to take and you said "I won't need them". Cause I don't want any more hard feeling then there already is.
