Post by 00outback » Sun Feb 03, 2008 2:55 pm

While heading of to Suby Wan Kenobi to do the suspension upgrade I was stopped at the lights on the corner of kent & adelaide st, some low life or kids threw a rock or a used a sling shot which smashed my back window on my liberty wagon. :( Here are some photos.

No it was in the main part of Maryborough I didn't even see anyone as it was 5.50 in the morning they must have been on the second storey of the buildings in that part of town.

fair enough. There is the distinct possibility that it was a BB gun. Either way, i'd atleast be reporting it to the cops, so they have an idea of what is happening around the area.

That's shattering news Steve.
Any idea how much a replacement rear window will cost?

That really sux mate! Some real idiots in this world hey...

I had a rear 1/4 panel window smashed, least that what i think its called. The small triangle one behind the rear door. Anyway Subaru wanted some $380 for it and I was told there were none in the country for 3 weeks. Went to a rather expensive but good wrecker and they couriered one to me the following day for 95inc postage. Another 20 saw it nicely fitted at a local smash repairer shop.

Yours is a bit harder to replace but it might be worth calling some dismantle rs to see if they can get them out, might save you some money. Have to consider the possible tint shade difference though.

I often go to flea markets and see stall holders selling sling shots and extra rubber bands for them you fell like reporting them to the police i think they are illegal

I have had somebody shoot marbles into our bay window one night they had 4 shots at it
see you soon Steve

They aren't illegal if you sell them as separate parts. Unfortunately.

Can't really say what has happened there, but I have seen a rock flicked up from a passing truck do that type of damage before though.
