Effects of AWD

Post by TW83 » Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:41 pm

Just curious to know if the CV joints(rear) in MYs wear out much faster than usual when the car is converted to AWD. Also wondering if AWD significantly improves the handling of these cars.
Any other pros and cons of the conversion would be helpful a well.

At a guess I don't think it would make a great deal of difference, they wouldn't be turning any more than normal, then again, it depends how you drive, I think we've all seen Tim's efforts 8O

As far as handling, have you ever tried using 4WD in your wagon during wet weather? This can be done safely and it's amazing the diffference it makes, again I'm guessing this is similar to AWD except you can safely use it in the dry.
