ej22 o2 sensor hitting xmember

Post by Alex » Wed Dec 19, 2007 9:36 pm

hey

after the conversion, we didnt realise until the other day when i broke a o2 sensor.(and it came out again today when i planted my foot)

It hits firmly against the engine crossmember, using the standard ej22 headers and standard l-series xmember.

has anyone come across this before? and what have you done to rectify the problem?( i just scalloped a nice chunk out of the xmember)

heres a pic so you can understand what im saying better.

thanks

zaust shop will sell you a threaded adapter to weld in a better location. leave yer old one there to bang around and plug the old hole. extend wires too needed if you go too far away

Generally they fit with the O2 sensor sitting just above the lip on the cross member

Didn't you just have to replace an engine mount? Maybe that was causing the problem?
