hi guys,
just wanting to know from others that have done EJ conversions how they hooked up the air con.
i have an EJ 22 in a brumby, just wondering if it is a matter of hooking up the EJ compressor to the brumby air con system via some modified pipes?

ring me and I'll explain it.
in short. locate the AC REQ wire. this will go to your A/C button - its a +ve on most of them. this will do three things- idle the car up, turn the A/C fans on, fire the compressor relay. from there locate the COMP REQ lead. this is usually runs a relay via a -ve trigger. grab a relay and wire it in this fashoin:
85 - ECU
86 - to EVAP switch
30 - +12v
87 - compressor.
you will need a EVAP switch from a 96 or so impreza to cycle the compressor. tie the input of that to the AC button and stick a diode on it band facing EVAP switch. miss this bit and the A/C wont shut off. switch is a 3pin device with a sensor on the ned of it located behind the glove box. get the whle thing and the leads that run to it.
knock up custom lines to suit the later gas and you are done. keep the brumby A/C cores and use the EJ compressor.

I would work it all out with stiff wire myself. that lets you put things where you want them. in my case I used the old lines and bent them to where I wanted things then took it to a A/C shop. an AC regasser may not have the tools to make your lines. a shop that makes custom stuff will. in my case it was $350 to get waht I bent up copied into new tube and the ends put on the appropriate hoses. the wiring of it is the worst part.
