L series is stuck in gear
L series is stuck in gear
Hi i know that i am a newby to the forum but have had a few subies. My l series wags has a problem its stuck in what seems to be 2nd gear the gearbox is a 5 speed manual dual range jobby. It seems to let the gear stick move like it is neutral but connot select or deselect gears. What i think might be the problem is that the gate to select 1st and 2nd has moved into 2nd position without the lever in position. Any suggestioins? I dont really wont to pull the gearbox out to fix a simple thing like that if can be avoided.

I'm trying to do the same with my gf, she's getting there with the clutch, just needs some confidence now.
Good luck with it all, keep us posted and post some pics if you can.
Cheers

Dont think i will be keepin the Lseries as gilfriends car needs attention first... Got too many projects on the go at once as per the usual. Fixing up an EH Holden as well so i dont have any room in the shed so it is going to have to go. Bugger was realy enjoying it on those nice forest tracks up the watagons.

The Clutch in the Brumby is an extra heavy duty type the toughest before you go to a button style clutch or multple plate type. Cable is less then 12 months old as the old one broke. GF gets a bit scared when she puts her foot down to much on the "go button". Her normal driver is a wedgie car (hyundai excel auto)
