Thanks for the replies. :)

Okay, I've decided to do an EJ swap and I've already got myself a donor car with EJ22.

I'm thinking that I might also do an LPG conversion to the EJ22. Brumby's got some space under the tray for a smallish size LPG tank, or plenty of room in the tray for a bigger size tank.

I'm thinking that with the $2000 govt rebate for LPG conversion, this might be a relatively cheap time to change over to dual fuel?

Anyone done it already on their vehicle?

Donor car is a damaged Gen I Liberty (AWD manual sedan) which I recently bought from Brisbane auctions.

Intentions are to convert the Brumby to:
EJ22, AWD manual, L series low range gearset, rear VLSD, and 4.111 ratios.

I'm still thinking about whether I should go for a BYB 5 stud conversion. Dunno if I'm better off keeping my 6 x scorpion rims and having the Brumby's rear drums uograded to RX disc brakes.

It's also been suggested to me to forget about an LPG conversion, but get a custom ULP auxillary fuel tank instead. Rational with this idea is that an EJ22 Brumby would be so light (and economical) that only a small amount of running costs would be saved by converting to gas. Better to spend the money on fitting a second ULP fuel tank under the tray and take advantage of fuel offers at the bottom of the price cycle (ie: tuesdays / wednesdays).

Other advice and ideas would be appreciated.

Colour is blue.

It was sold as a repairable write-off after a slight frontal impact. It's in good condition from the A pillar back, has a sunroof, rear spoiler, power windows, and alloy rims.

After it's canabilised for the parts needed to do the conversion, I was planning to sell the rest of the car. If it doesn't sell to an enthusiast, I'll sell it to a crusher which would be a shame as 90% of the car is undamaged.

Good to read that you're staying with the Brumby... and doing a lot more to it then just a conversion... Brilliant!

I wouldnt convert to gas for monies worth, gas prices are going up and at the end of the day you're not really saving much. You'll end up with problems due gas related.
