Im all inspired now. I just won a USB gps on ebay :)

Gunna get a new laptop so i can stick the old asus centrino under the seat in the prado... just got to find a touchscreen cheap now

I remember seeing some on ebay once. pretty cheap I thought at the time. But I got no idea how much they were. My memory doesn't last that long :(

Sounds like fun though. Just remember to get laser cut door locks too. Wouldn't want anyone stealing that setup.

I've actually thought about building a custom lcd dash. I've got enought spare computers here that I could actually make something and then shrink it to fit the car when I'm done. I've also got that half build embedded controller I've been working on for the traction control which I could use as well.
