Welding query
A Basic Question ......... Is there anything you need to do if you are arc welding on a fuel injected vehicle?
I was told years ago to disconnect the battery?
thanks

The problem is voltage drops between grounds on the vehicle
If you weld at the engine, and put your welder earth clamp say halfway along the car. The current will take parallel paths to get to the earth clamp with least resistance, that might mean through the cars electrical wiring.
For welding exhaust piping, your pretty safe as long as you earth clamp close as possiable to the work.
I always just hook up my jumper leads to the battery (they have a surge protector built in.
