A/C developments and questions

Post by julian » Sun Nov 18, 2007 2:52 pm

Okay, so I am pretty convinced the wiring has little to do with my air conditioning problem after several hours, cut fingers and one sour mood.
There was bugger all gas left!
This is a nuisance as I only had it regassed earlier this year. So I took the fittings off the compressor and one of the seals was shot. Also the filling fittings are a little bit loose.
Questions:
Can I use general rubber seals on the A/C system or do they need special ones?
Do the filling fittings with red or blue caps leak often and where else could it be leaking from?

Yes the seals are not your average seal. Generally when you AC looses gas it comes from the seal in the front of the AC compressor
