I Hate Subaru Gearboxes!!!!!!!!

RANT ON

driving home tonight i had another gearbox let go:(

just driving along doing about 60 in 3rd and it sounded like someone emptied a bucket of bolts onto the gearbox

so now for me thats 3rd gear twice, 2nd once, reverse once and rear output in about a year and a half

usless bloody glass subaru gearboxes GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
/end rant

ps: anyone got a dccd 6 speed going cheap?

And going to Symmons wasn't strenuous? :)
3/4 PPG gears as well maybe...

Did you get the new discs on?

yeah... loved it at symmons... doesnt like to cruise i spose

twice theyve let go just coasting now :(

def going 6 speed now... unless that other box turns up

oh and got the 2 peice rotors and ds2500's.. even picked up a cheap underbody h brace too (i got about 10kms on it and now its gotta come out again)

might grab a timing belt kit and just head north in the brumby (handy for you adz)

Its unusual how you havent toasted first yet. 3rd gear is replacable though, if you still have parts from the other gearboxes that are not damaged. If you are going to rebuild it look at each gear really closely for any scarring and the foot of the tooth.

i know your pain. with my L boxes so far ive done a second, reverse and now this latest 3.9 box has to go because its slipping out of reverse. so another late night gbox swap party is in order.....soon as i find one.

I find using the clutch helps the longevity ! Nah just **** stirring hard luck dude!
