Step One: WA BBQ Date Choosing

Post by SuBaRiNo » Mon Oct 15, 2007 9:50 pm

Ok... lets try and get the ball rolling on this... it's too hard to run a poll on dates cos there are far too many options here.

Lets start by choosing a month. Im currently thinking November near the end?
Like last weekend of Nov.

Some people have some projects and repairs they are doing that should have cleared up by then

Lets talk it over and come up with a date.\
Suggestions?
If we have a list of possible dates then we can poll it.

The people we really have to hear from are Aspro, Jaffa, Subgiraffi Dave, Devil Dave, Vidler etc:

25th November and 2nd of December are looking like the 2 dates we are playing with here. Both are Sundays.

Jaffa!?!?!? who's Jaffa.

OK I think this is correct…

From the Qld section of the board, under the thread titled Byb Bbq 07 it states the following…
BYB-01 wrote:Time got away with us this year due to trips and other commitments. We have had to change the date to later in the year. It may or may not work but it is going to be worth a try.
December 1st.
Therefore is the first wkd in December and this was the proposed date/weekend for our (meaning WA) BBQ/trip. Where the issue is for us is that we will not be there as I will now be in Melbourne (yes over the wkd). Therefore for those of you selecting this date it’s the date from the original post/thread… well at least that’s my understanding of it anyway.

As for the last wkd in November (the 24th / 25th) we are unable to attend due to other arrangements. I would need to consult the boss further and check other appointments however for us to attend it would need to be after the 2nd December, the 9th or even as late as the 16th.

Its great that others are willing to be flexible however as I said, I personally would be reluctant to stuff around with dates as there was more then enough notice given for this event. My 2c is that we are not going to be able to please everyone all the time, its just unfortunate (for us) that this time its us that will not be able to attend. I understand wanting the most people present for this event and we would (and will) attend this if possible. I will monitor the thread/WA section to see if we can make whatever date is proposed.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

Jaffa your posts are soo weird man... So basically your saying anytime in December is out of the question for you? Unless it's like 2 days before Christmas?? Sorry i didn't know the date of the Qld BBQ... i simply plucked dates from the sky earlier in the thread.

Makes things difficult when you have basically a months gap where you can't make it. So it would have to be November the 17th or December the 23rd in order for you to make it Jaffa??

Out of all the people on the board i think your one of the guys i hear a lot of people saying they wanted to meet.

Subarino you crack me up buddy (oh and who's this Jaffa you talking about!?!?!)

Sorry if there is any confusion… lets try a simpler version.

Original date for QLD and WA BYB BBQ was the first the weekend in December, which is the 01st and 02nd (for those of us without diaries).

One of the proposed new date for WA BYB BBQ is last weekend in November, which is the 24th and 25th (again for those of us without diaries).

Dates that we CAN NOT attend (at this stage) include the follow…
- The 17th and possibly the 18th November (the 18th is tentative atm).
- The last weekend in November, which is the 24th and 25th AND
- The first the weekend in December (which is the 01st and 02nd).

Where you got this from
SuBaRiNo wrote: So basically your saying anytime in December is out of the question for you? Unless it's like 2 days before Christmas??
The next date in December that we could attend (at this stage) would be the weekend of the 08th and 09th OR the 16th and 17th of December (I only put the 09th and 17th down as it appears that a majority of people can only go on a Sunday).

Is this any clearer?

Yes sorry Subarino as I keep telling ya the lack of contact recently is cause life is just to busy atm (even the RX is still in bits - cry cry)… I am going to attempt to change this for next year and we’d like to do a bit more 4WD/camping (like we did in 05/06 – I remember we almost over-dossed on the stuff).

As for this…
SuBaRiNo wrote: Out of all the people on the board i think your one of the guys i hear a lot of people saying they wanted to meet.
it beats the ???? out of me why… What have I done now? (jokes people jokes).

And as for this…

in the interest of a less mind boggling thread, here is a 1 line answer like every elses;

If the trip is after mid November then Jaffa & co are only able to go the weekend of 8th/9th or 15th/16th December.

Jaffa - Correct Yes, No? (I'm probably wrong, it took me about 5 minutes to figure that out).

If you do not understand then this should spell it out...

Dates that we CAN NOT attend…
- The 17th and the 18th November
- The 24th and 25th November AND
- The 01st and 02nd of December.

.....LATE NOV or EARLY DEC suits me.....my car's re-birth should be almost finished by then, if all goes well....( L-Raiser crosses her fingers, eyes, T's, & legs.... ) :)

(UPDATE) My lil upgrade for my beloved 'L' has jumped up a level bigtime.

My mechanic is basically going to swap EVERYTHING he humanly can from a written off 2.5L Forester into my baby, including Dash, Center Console, Better Pwr Steering, Better Air-con, Cruise Control, Keyless Entry, 4 wheel Forester/Liberty Disc Brakes (modded Liberty for the rear) - giving me 5-stud patturn - YOU bloody bewdy!!! :D

Im livid with anticipation....
