dunno who can pick whats wrong here but neway its breaking on me. :(

really sucks

i need some way of fixing it which can be done with the limited room to move and hard to reach place that it is already.

if u dont no this type of setup the cable sits over these brackets and another plate clamps on top of it suppose to hold the outer cable still while u push the pedal to move the inner cable. but becuase of the beefed up pressure plate its putting to much stress on the weak brackets that are down there and they are now breaking.

whos got some ideas on what i can do?

ill get some pics tomorrow of how the cable actually attaches down there also

Idea... GET AN L SERIES CLUTCH CABLE!!!!

They nut and bolt onto the side of the pedal box so this bracket system wont even be used... infact u need to cut it off. The top bolt hole i can see in the pic is one of the holes u can use... drill one more hole and bolt it in and it should be solved.

Matt yes u do have a pedal box... the entire thing comes out very easily. Mine used to be exactly the same as yours.

And the mounts for the L cable require u to make nothing... there is a mount that is hard attached to the clutch cable. This WILL come with the new L series cable.

All u need to do is remove your pedal box.... cut off them brackets that are on there now.... use one of the existing bolt holes for one of the mounts and drill one hole to nut and bolt the other.

I will take a pic of mine for you... will post pics in like an hour.

EASY

MIG Welder.........had a problem with my old VL Commodore and when the MIG's first came out this crash repair place (Ray Allen) in Townsville welded my clutch hanger, we had a few wet potato sacks around the area to stop sparks going anywhere and it took him about 30mins as he had to go slowly.

Worth looking at if you want to keep it standard.

No my pedal box has always been fine... Even with my beafed up clutch.

To give you some idea on how beafy my clutch is... i have broken 2 clutch forks and i can only run the existing clutch now because i have had 5mm plate welded to it to strengthen it. But no i have not needed to mod the cable or pedal box more than you can see in my photo.

i cant tell from ur pic dave but did u adapt some sort of a pedal stop into it. my pedal keeps tryna come out all the way coz theres nothing to stop it like the rubber bushing kinda long thing on the old cable.

clutch problems all gone now..good work by myself if i dont say so :p

had to devise a very sophistimacated pedal stop or trying to adjust it wuld make the cable at teh pedal side keep gettin pulled back in and cause the pedal to end up liek twice as high as the break pedal...but all good now.

clutchs moves so smoothly now (wheres all those ppl who said my fork broke :p i proved u all wrong :D)
