Interesting about the Simpson trip about now is probably good. It depends on the weather and seasons, but I'd recomend September. Before that it can get damn cold, much later and it starts to get hot. Haven't been across, but I've been to both edges - just the middle bit to do now! had it penciled in for the year after. Already opened my gob and suggested Frazer Island for next year. Victorian September school holidays, some of the possible starters have school age kids.
