Good question - glad you asked as I forgot to tell - it glows only in the OUT OFF position, brakes on ignition off. YES SWITCH IS ON THE DASH, RIGHT HS between st whl and switch bank

On the 4EAT's i believe that in "Auto mode" 4wd is enganged when you press the brake or turn on the wipers. Disenganged all other times to save fuel.

Maybe there is supposed to be a diode in there somewhere to prevent backfeed to the dash that isnt working.
There are a heap of diodes in the multifunction display that are signal blockers.

i'm thinking if the 4wd auto switch is on and you press the brake it may light up as the brake light works wheather the ign is on or off.I can't test this any more disconnetted when i fitted the ej auto box. Also when i had something wired wrong it used to blow a fuse when the 4 wd auto was switched on.

ta, not gonna matter much as i have only done 24kms of attempting to get to rego inspection and need to turn back each time coz something is not right (this time i forgot to screw the mismatch horn pad in place) and I do not like 3 speeds, i do not like someone else choosing the gears for me, i do not like slushbox. I wanna get me bits together for a conversion after registering and insuring it, play with the auto like service and adjust it and test it first.
