Can remove door panel '92 liberty

Post by blu278931 » Sun Dec 18, 2005 7:13 am

Sorry in advance if this is covered already..... i tryed a search

Anyway I've just bought a 92 liberty sedan and the rear drivers side door won't lock.......
Well when i tryed to remove the interior door panel i got stuck at the latch/locking mechinism.
To me it looks like it needs to be removed before the panel will come off.
I just cant seem to figure out how to do it.

There are two pain in the ass clips that attach the moulded backing plactic piece behing the latch and locking lever. The clips are on the top and bottom sides and in the middle, you should only need to unclip the top one (easier to get at) and then it will come off the bottom clip. To undo the clip use a small flathead screwdriver and work it along the top edge toward the center, you will feel (or see) a raised clip, you need to get the tip of the screwdriver under this clip and lift/pop it off. Can be a real ass but force will only break the plastic so be patient!!

Good luck
