Is this an AWD turbo Job or just a base model with PT 4WD?

I'm after the dash centre, rear discs, gearbox and console with diff lock switch + the solenoids to operate the whole thing...

Cheers

PS i'm jealous

dont know. thats one of the questions I asked. could well be a FWD one.

btw dont get jealous yet - if its 01/89 I'm not going to buy it.

fang,
considering it would get a 5stud swap under it and a EJ20G (auto.) tossed in its more the shell I'm after. the cosmetics (IE wing and front spoiler) I can find in a wrecker fairly easy. I know of 4 BIG subaru yards there so its a few phone calls. injection would be nice though. saves me swapping lines out.

if a RXII DOES come up I'd still like to know.

I think SuBaRiNo would be interested in this... heard he needs a new rear side window after some D!ckhead threw a rock at hatchy while cruisin on the highway...

NZ is not that big and it should not present to much of an issue to get it from christchurch to auckland... that's if he is interested. Oh and i would have though that $3000+ is pretty dear for a parts bomb (i could be eating hat to though).

Whats the go Chris - is the law still "car must over 15 years old"? Whats significance of the January 89 date? Would you consider shoving some 14" wheels in the boot of your coupe when you ship it over? :P

nope. they locked the sliding scale to jan 01 . 1989 last year. so it has to be built before that to come in under the '15 yr rule'. its classed as an enthusiasts vehicle after that. it doesnt affect the market value like the newer cars (in cases the car is worth less.)

this one *may* JUST pass. I'm waiting on the VIN plates. lady says its all in japanese so if its an AG6 then I'm in for a bit of fun..

Why don't we all get together a container full of parts and share the shipping costs? I know it will be a pain in the arse as to where to land the stuff in oz but could be worth it...

Just a thought as everyone seems to be trying to pack something into Chris' potential coupe before he's even got it...

correct. or not available within 3 years of release (there's more to it but thats close.)

as for 5 stud XT6 stuff - finding it is the worst part. its thin there as well. the US is the best place to find them.

as for the car:

EA71 powered 1500cc FWD and I believe injected. its a 09/88 version so I could get it. I'm waiting on pics now as I can see rust in one of the shots inthe spare tyre area. not much point spending that kind of $$ if its a rust bucket.

Road trip to NZ!! :D

Finding parts is a problem when we are here in Australia - I have some good contacts there - but nothing beats looking for yourself.

LOL Bennie - I bet that container would be full of Full Time gearboxes, rear discs, wheels, and associated bits. Even things like LSDs are cheap there -:

Craig - When you say not bought out in Australia, would we be able to bring in a GT L Series wagon like Chris's?

Good luck on the road trip unless you have an aquatic subi!!!

dont laugh but a 40ft container costs the same to move as a 20ft one. roughly $2k doesn't matter what is in it...

emptying it is another story. tarrif and GST on each piece that comes out.
fine if you bought it in bulk but if individually all are subject to this.
