EJ22 + Blower?
EJ22 + Blower?
I have a nice shiny MR2 Blower here and am very tempted to fit it to the Wonder Brumby
Will it handle 6psi of boost and a gentle right foot??
Should I double up on my medication?

EJ22 Dual range AWD lifted, widened and much happier now thanks very much.
1991 L Series wagon, white and perfectly normal apart from the ticking, no I think that is normal.
Jet boat..webbered EA81 with a hybrid tin dish welded and glued to it.

This is going beyond need.

I want detailed results, Tasbrat!
I could very well be following in your footsteps in the next couple of years, only thing thats held me back from an EJ22 is I feel they're not overly powerful for the effort you put in. Hopefully a blower will sort that whilst keeping a smooth, predictable power delivery.

Righto- after much thought and measuring
(and a good talk to Steve @ Rising Sun)
I AM GOING FOR IT
The battery is going under the co-pilots seat,
Steve is digging up his old brackets for me,
I am looking for a 1GG pump and selling /swapping the 4agaze one I have.
The Wonder Brumby is coming off the road for 2 weeks soon for a full nolathane kit, new springs all round and camber adjustments (front and rear).
Its getting some boost as well.
Yes Tim I will post full details.
You are right in what you say, it just lacks punch when you really need it
(on the wrong side of the road when overtaking).
Only boost can fix it.
I pursued the EJ18 head swap thing but it was robbing peter to pay paul.
Bad flow vs good compression. Bah!
I will not cut the chassis and will not cut the Crossmember.
Hopefully I will have a boosted SOHC donk that fits with no cutting.
Anyone want to boost an EA81 or EA82 I have a beautiful blower right here...PM me.
Matt

Very interested in blower if you still have it? Pm pics or e-mail @ [email protected]
Update for the interested...
I now have a 1GG blower,
Nolathane all arrived, thanks Justin
I have my L rear coils, thanks Bluesteel
The Coupe dash and coilover brackets are on their way, thanks Paul
The blower brackets are onn their way, thanks Steve
The new King HD springs should be here today, thanks Pete
LSD is in the works, thanks Ian
isn't this a nice little community we have.
Still to do...
Fit it all,
Slot the strut holes out and re-camber her front wheels
fit rear camber kit and front sway bar
Wheel alignment front and rear,
Wire in an overboost protection circuit to the blower
Get it fired up and basic tuning for the 150km trip to the dyno
(the only 4 wheel dyno in the state).
Thats if I dont shoot out both front tires with overcompressed pistons!
