Ej25 Harness Question

Post by chriSTIan » Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:56 pm

Hi all
I've just picked up an ej25 off a gen3 outback with most of the wiring harness and ecu,i've been told that there is some sort of a proximity immobilizer factory fitted ,is that the case?
i think its a 00 model with auto trans.
Can it be bypassed?
Or should i go back and pick up key and sensor??
If the harness is cut down for a conversion, will it still be an issue?
Thanx
Christian

grab the key and ignition barrel. "Ben" will be able to tell you all about this, he was sent the wrong key...

Yep, '00 model has it in it and no it can't be bypassed. We tried for an hour or more on one of our conversions with out any luck. We had it running with the key correct key and barrel then disconnected it and tried to by pass it. Nup, no good.
