Pipidinny road off Wanneroo Road?

Post by Matatak » Sat Jun 23, 2007 10:05 pm

has anybody been up to this area in subis? it is north of the river around 20ks out of wanneroo and is basically dunes with heaps of tracks around them and the beach if anyone is man enough to ventrue down

i went for a trip today as passenger in a Chev Silverado (huge a** Ute) and another chevie silverado but with a heaps longer wheel base and lastly a 4wd Delica (same as pajero but different shape)
its to bad i couldnt get photos or nething as i just got asked when i was at work then hopped in and went.
the cars went pretty well through it all (tracks were almost to small for the Utes) but evrything went allright except for tryin to get back up a hill from the beach, would fo been alright but couldnt get a run up as tide was in and it was jsut so boggy tryin to get back up the hill

im thinkin that if no1 ahs then should go there oneday as its a nice area was only 2 others we saw there today and im reckoning stockies could get around with a bit of speed. but ofcourse anythign with a conversion and LSD would go with no probs.

(Maybe stop there on the lancelin trip if its goin ahead)

Shouldnt this post really should be in the WA section???????
Matatak, you would find that this area is off limits ie closed to public.
Nice area for a drive, but at the risk of getting a fine off the rangers etc.

Don't mean to sound like a b*tch, but park rangers are so bloody important for this country. Deficient funding for National Parks and Wildlife means it is highly unlikely that we will see the establishment of many more parks unless there is either more funding or someone in politics fights for it...
The beauty of the country that we live in is largely in the hands of rangers, and they deserve a big round of applause.

Not sure that are is a "PARK" and isnt it the area refered to as Alkimos after the shipwreck, the same area where bulldozers will move into over the
comming years and flaten it? See announcement by the planning minister.

I have been there in lifted and stock subarus before they closed the area, it is great fun.

closed the area did they lol??

the way we went was fully open just turn off onto Pipidinny from wanneroo and follow it then it will turn into an open area that u can rest for awhile and that then follow heaps of the tracjs around the dunes.
there was no gates anywhere no signs no chains etc.

if it really was closed then they should advertise it more openly and there was definitlely a ton of tracks aorund there so heaps of ppl go there in 4wds and even quad and motobike tracks.

we even pulled some guys in a 2003 Pajero out who got stuck. they didnt no nething bout the area being closed as they just came along for a drive aswell

im not trying to have a go at anyone who says this area is closed as for all i no it may be written somewhere it is, we obviously didnt have the time to go scouring every track and there was a few different entrances and that so who knows.

The pippidini area is mostly private property. You can only really get in trouble if the land owners complain to the rangers which hasn't happened to me yet in all the years I've been there. The main way to get in trouble is to drive on the beach. A couple of times I've been there rangers have been down there handing out fine. Theres still loads of fun to have without going onto the beach tho.

yeh ditto what andrew said- i think land is owned by the water corp but yeh only fines have come from driving on the beach. good fun tracks there and off romeo rd (the one before pippidinny)
