Mate, it really does feel good to get that EA82T off the stand and bolted in. I think I spent more time thinking about the approach than the time it took to get in. typical procrastinator....

bonnet off and engine up and out style

what was worrying me is it was a bastard to get out because of the 2.5 inch one piece exhaust had no give for the turbo flange studs. In theory it would be an even BIGGER bastard to get back in.

* it really helped to undo the under gearbox exhaust support bracket for the install. the pull out i only saw the first front bracket.

* the other big tip was to undo the four 14mm nuts to drop the cross member enough so the crosmember was not in the way of the engine mounts studs. The springs musta raised the body away from cross member as i undid the nuts with the 600mm breaker bar then the rattle gun.

and of course I forgot to replace the auto trans cooler lines which woulda been easier to get out sans donk


still feels good :)

next will be inlet stuff, air con and pwr steer....it will be a while before i crank it over though.

Looks like you are a weekend ahead of me, i plan to drop in my ea82t this coming sunday. I agree.... ive spent more time thinking about it that what it has taken me to do the work.

i think we spend more time in here than needed at times...and why was it easy?? it is the first car i have ever put back as an auto (yuck) so no splines :)
