Sorry I don't know the answer to that but I'm interested to know what the difference is between an RX pedal box and a standard L one?
cheers, sorry for the hijack.

the RX has a lever & pivot action going on above the pedal whereas the standard is pulling straight off the top of the pedal. The RX has heat shield on it to for turbo heat.

Thomas - why do you ask ? You have the RX pedals in don't you ?

Yeah I got the RX pedals. But the pedal pulls the cable out of its sleeve at a downwards angle. So every time you push the clutch it rubs the cable and it eventual wears away until it snaps.

I can't see how I could have put the clutch pedal together incorrectly, it only really works one way. So I was hoping I had a incorrect part or something (clutch cable).

Also the whole set up seems extensively sloppy, like the cable is to long? But this may be a poor clutch, although the clutch performs fine with no slips or anything.

Thomas, did you use the factory 'clutch cable hole' in the firewall ? Assuming there was one in the first place , just plugged for the auto ?

Yeah it goes through a factory hole, but there are a few back there. Just put it through the most logical one. But anyway the sleeve of the cable is bolted to the pedal box, so the angle of the sleeve is fixed.

Have you got a RX one? mabye I should have a look sometime if you do. I also might try just getting a standard L-sereis pedal and fitting it, see what happens.

yeah, got one hoarded somewhere.

you may have found a design fault that you can improve on, i'd be sticking with the RX style as it looks to be a stronger set up and may make your left knee last longer !

where it is fixed to pedal box is it something that coulda got bent on removal, transit or fitting? or can you bend it to rectify the wear ?

maybe your pivot point is fatiguing and bent a little?
mine was doing the same thing a few months back.. cable was rubbing on firewall. then the pivot section of the pedal bend and broke off to the point where is wasnt moving the cable at all once pedal was depressed.

Are you sure. From memory this is about a 2” metal bar if its fatigued I would not think that she would bend a little, when mine went she went with an almighty bag as I sheered the pin... needed to change may pants and drive with no clutch for a while ;-p
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).
