Dropping out of 4 lo

Post by daveosubi » Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:18 pm

I did a little 4wd'ing yesterday, and noticed that it would drop out of 4lo in first gear when going down hill. It seemed ok in first if I braked aswell but when it was moving a bit faster it popped out, twice. In second gear it seemed fine, but I was riding the brakes abit.

Any idea's as to whats wrong or is this normal?

could be worn gear dogs or too much free play on hi-lo selector shaft/cable.

You may need to adjust the selector position its the one on top of the gearbox visable in the engine bay
